100% CIRCULAR ECONOMY
UPCYCLING TOGETHER

ReLife is a circular economy leader. We start by providing recyclable waste collection, transport and recovery services to our customers and offering them back the products made from the recycling of their waste.

ReLife is the full recycling process management leader in Italy, from the collection and recovery of municipal and industrial solid waste to accurate recycling rate monitoring and sale of end products.

The ReLife system is customer-centred. From being producers of recyclable waste, our customers are the recipients of eco-sustainable products and packaging resulting from the collection and processing cycle completed in our facilities.

The ReLife inclusive growth model has no equals in Italy or Europe. It is based on sharing circular economy principles and operating in synergy with companies that design and manufacture consumer goods with an eye to their new use. For ReLife, the circular economy is a modern, coherent and integrated way of thinking, living and doing business in the value chain.

ReLife is committed to turning waste into value

End of waste is a concept towards which all modern countries are striving. The goal is to reuse material many times, in a virtuous circle of recovery, reuse and sustainable growth that generates savings for companies and spawns new green jobs.

Waste becomes a resource, a tool for creating value for people, customers and the environment.

THE DIVISIONS

ReLife achieves industrial integration through a network of facilities operating within 4 production units – Recycling, Paper Mill, Paper Packaging, Plastic Packaging where the materials are sorted, processed for recycling and transformed into new consumer goods.

The activities of ReLife are diversified. Almost 1,000,000 tonnes of solid municipal and special non-hazardous waste are recovered every year, consisting mainly of paper and cardboard, plastic and polymeric polymers, beverage cartons, aluminium, ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, glass, wood and other materials (biomass, WEEE and bulky waste, construction waste).

RELIFE RECYCLING

ReLife Recycling collects, transports, sorts and reclaims recoverable materials in central and northern Italy.

Manufacturing process waste undergoes further reclaiming processes to eliminate any residual chlorine and prevent the consequent formation of dioxin. The treated waste is transformed in the ReFuel facility into secondary solid fuel (SSF) replacing significant amounts of coal in cement works in Italy and Europe, which is all the more important considering that this industry is under particular scrutiny for its CO2 production.

paper-mill

RELIFE PAPER MILL

ReLife Paper Mill converts 125,000 tonnes of cellulose-based secondary raw materials into cardboard, paperboard, spiral and inline tubes, cones and cardboard edge protectors, totalling over 110,000 tonnes of new products per year. The top-quality waste paper and cardboard processed in the paper mill comes mostly from sorting at the ReLife Group collection facilities.

The Paper Mill division works in synergy with the recycling division to achieve an industrial integration that completes the circular economy path to maximise value along the recycling chain.

RELIFE PAPER PACKAGING

The three integrated corrugated box factories are among Italy’s leading manufacturers of corrugated sheets and boxes, mainly made from recycled paper. High quality and production efficiency promoted the fast growth of the company capable of producing over 170 million square metres of corrugated cardboard and serving customers in various food and consumer product sectors.

The division produces in full autonomy products from paper reels to finished boxes ready for use by the customer. The ever-increasing use of cardboard from recycled paper, now totalling more than 80 per cent of the entire production, meets the strong demand for circularity, developed through the rapid integration with ReLife Recycling.

RELIFE PLASTIC PACKAGING

Plastic Packaging receives more than 16,000 tonnes of plastic waste per year, mainly sorted post-consumer waste from the Recycling Division facilities, transforming it into 13,000 tonnes of secondary raw material. This technical excellence on a European level in post-consumer plastic purification produces materials even capable of replacing virgin material in critically thin applications.

The transformation and production facilities process more than 15 thousand tons of granules (between virgin and recycled) and reach more than 2.5 billion bags sold to end consumers, fully respecting the verticalisation guidelines (all the recycled raw material is self-produced) and sustainability, with CO2 emissions that are 50% lower than in virgin-only processes and with superior finished product circularity because it is made with high percentages of post-consumer material.
